New Delhi – A campaign against the use of plastic National Flag was launched by the indigenous Koo App, which got a tremendous response. An oath was taken on the app by many Chief Ministers, Ministers, Leaders, Sportspersons and dignitaries not to use plastic National Flags. The public is also urged to use the National Flag made of paper or cloth. The hashtags ‘#SayNoToPlasticTiranga’ and ‘#PledgeOnKoo’ also trended on the app.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath posted on his account to take an oath not to use plastic National Flag for protecting the environment and National interest. He appealed to try and make India plastic-free.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also appealed from his account on the app to use the National Flags of paper and cloth.
From Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh’s office account, it was appealed to avoid using plastic National Flags to keep the Nation clean.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Manipur Chief Minister N.K. Biren Singh, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh, Rajasthan Environment Minister Sukhram Bishnoi, Lok Janshakti Party leader Chirag Paswan and Ravi Kumar Dahiya, a silver medalist in wrestling at the Tokyo Olympics, also appealed not to use plastic National Flags.
Instructions from Union Home Ministry
The Union Home Ministry has sent letters to the States and Union Territories instructing them not to use plastic flags. It also said that only paper and cloth flags should be used.
