Dehradun (Uttarakhand) : Protesting against the Devasthanam Board Act, priests of Uttarakhand sent a blood-written letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting to intervene in this matter. According to this law, Char Dham and other temples will be under the control of the Government. Earlier, in this matter, BJP Senior Leader Dr. Subhramanyam Swamy had filed a petition in Court.
- The letter signed by Priest Santosh Trivedi of Akhil Bharatiya Teertha Purohit Mahasabha and Shri Kedarnath Dham stated that the law aims to destroy the traditional system of the Char Dham including the Badrinath shrine. They further requested the PM to instruct the State Government to roll back the law.
- The associations and Priests related to the Char Dham along with 47 Temples have decided to hold State-level protests on 17th August to oppose the board. Priests stated that after Former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Teertha Singh Rawat, the present Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also have disappointed us. The board should be dissolved.
