India’s indigenous Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant’s trial successful
Will be inducted into the Indian Navy next year
Kochi (Kerala) – The completely indigenous Aircraft Carrier INS Vikrant will enter the service with the Indian Navy next year. It has successfully completed a maiden sea voyage. Indian Navy stated that the trial progressed as planned and system parameters proved satisfactory. The ship’s performance, including the hull, main propulsion, power generation and distribution and auxiliary equipment all accomplished the successful trial. There will be more trials in the coming months. It is expected to complete its induction in the Indian Navy in 2022. Only a few countries can construct indigenous aircraft carriers. Now India would be one of them.

At present India has only one aircraft carrier- INS Vikramaditya. It has been bought from Russia. Earlier to this, INS Viraat was bought from Britain. It has been recently decommissioned from the Indian Naval Service.
