According to the information given by ED officers, the Central Government had given the contract of conducting ‘Rapid Antigen Test and R.T.P.C.R. Test to the labs during the period of Kumbha Mela, but these labs performed very few Corona tests. They registered fake cases and prepared fake bills also. They intended to make lots of money. They showed false entries of the people who never visited Kumbha Mela. Due to these false tests, the percentage of corona infected cases was shown as 0.18; but ED officers have estimated the actual percentage to be approximately 5.3. The Revenue Dept of Uttarakhand had given almost Rs. 3 crore to the respective Dept as funds for the testing.
