My ancestors were Hindu Rajput : Bihar Minority Affairs Minister

It is a fact that everyone was Hindu in India before Islam came, but it is also true that the religious fanatics are not ready to accept it.

Hajipur (Bihar) – Jama Khan, Bihar’s Minority Affairs Minister said that his ancestors were Hindu Rajput. Khan was responding to the journalists when asked about conversions of Hindus to Islam.

Khan said that the two brothers, Jay Ram Singh and Bhagwan Singh were his ancestors. They had settled in Kaimur. When the invasion and war started, Bhagwan Singh accepted Islam, hence, his family members became Muslim, but Jay Ram Singh’s descendants are still Hindus. In our family, many are Hindu Rajputs. We have maintained good relations with our Hindu relatives. I am against forceful conversions. I will never change my religion even if anyone tries to shoot me with a gun. It is a different thing if anybody gets converted wilfully. The State Government will not allow anyone to be forcefully converted to other religions.
