CPI(M) youth wing member raped and murdered a 6-year-old girl in Kerala

Molested the girl for the past 3 years

• Police should prosecute him in the Fast Track Court and try to get him capital punishment. He is a member of CPI(M), the ruling party of Kerala. The women activists groups should be alert because he might escape by applying political pressure.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) – The Kerala Police has arrested 22-years-old Arjun, a local activist of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), a youth wing of the ruling Communist Party, for killing a 6-year-old girl after raping her. According to media reports, the incident took place in the Idukki District. DYFI worker was arrested in Kerala on 5^th July. It was revealed that the accused has been sexually abusing her for the past 3 years. He used to visit the girl`s house when her parents were not home. He lured the girl with sweets, toffees, and raped her for 3 years.

On 30^th June, the girl fainted after the rape. Arjun sensed that he was in trouble and hanged the child. The post-mortem report stated that the girl was raped after which the Police carried out an investigation and Arjun`s name came up. After interrogation, he confessed to having committed the crime.

2 CPI(M) leaders arrested for sexual harassment
