The use of drones for terrorism needs to be taken seriously and curbed : India at UN
India has raised the issue of drone bomb attacks by terrorists at the UN
New York (US) – The use of weaponised drones for terrorism over strategic and commercial assets needs the serious attention of the member States. The investigation reports have revealed that these drones are utilised by terrorist groups for the smuggling of weapons and explosives across the border. India has cautioned the UN General Assembly that the use of drones by terrorists, if not eliminated now, will pose a great threat in the future.

India’s Special Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, V.S.K. Kaumudi was addressing the 2nd high level conference of the Head of Counter Terrorism Agencies of the member States. He further said that information and communication technology such as the internet and the social media is misused for terrorist propaganda, radicalisation and recruitment of new entrants. These drones which are easily and cheaply available and are currently used by the terrorists, has become a global challenge now.
