Two Sikh girls from Kashmir abducted and forcibly converted to Islam

• Sikh organisations have opposed the abduction and conversion of Sikh girls. Why did the Sikh organisations not raise their voice when such incidents were happening with Hindu girls ?
• Why Khalistani organisations, engaged in operations in Punjab with the assistance of Pakistan, are silent now or are they giving their consent to such incidents ?
• Will the Sikhs agitating against India in Canada and other Nations, oppose the religious fanatics at the international level ?

Jammu – Two Sikh girls from Budgam and Srinagar in Kashmir have been abducted and converted into Islam. One of them is forcefully married off to a Muslim youth. Taking cognisance of these incidents, the Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) have agitated in Jammu and urged Manoj Sinha, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, to take appropriate action.

According to Sardar Santpal Singh, President Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Budgam,

1. The girl from Budgam was mentally unstable. A Muslim man lured her on the pretext of love and converted her. This is a Love jihad case. The girl has not been handed over to her family.
2. Superintendent of Police gave in writing that after the hearing of the case in the Court, the girl would be handed over to her family. However, the Court gave the verdict in favour of the Muslim youth, and the girl was handed over to him.
3. The Police asked us to sit outside on the pretext of Covid pandemic, but allowed the Muslim’s relatives to go in the Court. The statement of the girl was taken in our absence, but heard the statements given by the Muslim youth’s relatives.
4. The Court never called us (the girl’s relatives). The Court should have handed over the girl to us at least for a week. Thereafter, if the girl had wished to go to the Muslim youth, we would have allowed her. The Muslim youth had already been married twice or thrice. They called upon the Muslim community to support them.
