₹ 1 lakh to be given as an incentive to the parents having highest number of children in the minority Mizo community

It should not come as surprise if such an announcement has to be made for Hindus tomorrow. At present, Hindus are a minority in eight States of the country !
Aizawl (Mizoram) – Mizoram Sports Minister Robert Romawia Royte has announced a cash incentive of ₹ 1 lakh to a living parent with the highest number of children in his constituency to encourage population growth among the demographically small Mizo communities. However, he did not mention the minimum number of children required to be eligible for the incentive. Mr Royte made announcement on 20th June, on the occasion of Father’s Day.

The cost of the incentive will be borne by a construction consultancy firm owned by Mr. Royte’s son. Mizoram’s population was 1,091,014, according to the 2011 census. With only 52 persons per square kilometre, Mizoram has the second lowest population density in the country. The national average is 382 persons per square kilometer.
