China and Pakistan conduct joint fighter jets drill near Ladakh border
Special exercises aimed at shooting down Indian ‘Sukhoi’ jets
New Delhi – China has begun fighter jets war exercises near Ladakh border in its Tibet region. The exercises are being jointly conducted with Pakistani Air Force. It involved carrying out bombing by the jets, specially aimed at shooting down Indian Sukhoi jets. The exercises, which began on 22nd May, will conclude at the end of June. Meanwhile, Chinese drones and fighter jets are firing missiles. In view of the current scenario, India’s Army Chief visited Ladakh and reviewed the security arrangements.
1. Chinese and Pakistani jets are exercising air-to-air, air-to-surface, and air-to-water missile firing aimed at respective targets. The jets are flying very close to the Indian airspace.
2. The joint drill involves exercises aimed at shooting down India’s Sukhoi Su-30 fighter jet. None of these countries possess capability to face Rafale and Sukhoi alone and hence, exercises were conducted for a combined attack by J-10 and J-11 fighter jets to shoot down Sukhoi.
3. According to the defence experts, Pakistan cannot fight India without China’s assistance. Similarly, China cannot put more pressure on India without Pakistan’s help. And thus, China is conducting joint drills with Pakistan. Pakistan too had invited Chinese army in PoK at several occasions in the past.
