Hindus threaten to flee the Muslim-majority village Noorpur in Uttar Pradesh

Aligarh (UP) – Now after Kairana, Hindus of Noorpur village in Tappal Police Station area have threatened to flee the town. Several houses bear a message – ‘This house is on sale’ – scribbled on the wall. As soon as the picture of this message was viral, Police came to their senses and registered a crime against some religious fanatics and a lawyer from the village.

Omprakash, a resident from Noorpur village said, ‘There was marriage of his 2 daughters on 26th May; when the marriage procession was about to reach our home, some religious fanatics stopped it and attacked the procession and Hindus with sticks. They damaged a four-wheeler also. The driver of the car and 2 other individuals sitting in the car got injured badly. Hindus in the village were hurt and threatened to flee the village. When a complaint was registered against the religious fanatics the next day, the Police did not take any action. (Police bully Hindus, but fear the religious fanatics. Such Policemen should be dismissed.- Editor)
Hindu population in Noorpur only 20%
The Hindu population in Noorpur is 3,500, that is 20% and Muslims is 80%. There are 3 mosques and 1 big madarassa in the village. A resident named Rajveer had alleged that Hindus there are often being pressurised for conversion. This is not the only incident of creating obstacles in Hindu girl’s marriage, there were such incidents on 25th April and 9th May also. Anup Pradhan, BJP MLA in Khair Assembly has asked the Administration to take strict action against those involved with this crime.
