One dose of coronavirus vaccine is enough for those recovered from Covid-19 – Research of Banaras Hindu University
Informed the PM
Varanasi (UP) – Research by the Zoology department of the Banaras Hindu University states that antibodies start developing within 10 days in the bodies of corona-free patients after having taken the 1st dose of the vaccine. Hence, there is no need for them to take the 2nd dose of the vaccine. They have informed this to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a letter and advised him to administer a single dose to such corona-free individuals. This research has been selected for publication in the Journal Science Immunology in the US.

Prof. Gyaneshwer Chaubey of Zoology Department, Prof. Vijay Nath Mishra and Dr Abhishek Pathak of Neurology Department conducted the research. Prof. Chaubey said that they realised the above mentioned development after conducting experiments on 20 individuals. Presently, 2 crore individuals are corona-free in the country. Therefore, the vaccine can be saved by administering only one dose to them and tackle the shortage of vaccine effectively.
