Allahabad (UP) – Allahabad High Court directed the Meerut Senior Superintendent of Police to give protection to the Muslim woman marrying a Hindu man after having adopted the Hindu Dharma. The High Court also directed the Police not to interfere in the married life of the couple. They should be careful that no physical harm is caused to the Muslim woman by her father or by any of her family member or harassed by the media. The Court has instructed the State Government to file an affidavit within the next 4 weeks.

The Muslim woman has changed her name as Yati after being converted as a Hindu. She had informed the Collector about it after getting converted and also published the same in the newspaper. She had married the Hindu man in April. She had asked for protection from the High Court when she started getting threats of killing from her family members.
