- The Embassy alleges that the Chinese State television channel CGTN aired a discussion program on the Gaza air-strikes. The panel was anti-Jews. We are shocked to see the anti-Jews program on China’s State television. Tweeting the discussion the Embassy said, “We have hoped that the times of the ‘Jew’s controlling the world’ conspiracy theories were outdated, unfortunately anti-Semitism has shown its ugly face again”.
- According to the Chinese statement, what was really objectionable in this three-minute program has not been ascertained still, as it was a public holiday. The case will be investigated later.
- CGTN host Zheng Junfeng questioned whether US support for Israel was truly based on shared democratic values ?“Some people believe that US pro-Israeli policy is traceable to the influence of wealthy Jews in the US and the Jewish lobby on US foreign policy makers”.
- According to Zheng Junfeng, Jews dominate the finance and the Internet sectors in the business world.
- Zheng Junfeng then accused the US, China’s top geopolitical rival, of using Israel as a ’beachhead’ in the Middle East and a proxy in its campaign to defeat pan-Arabism.
- No official comment has come from the CGTN channel in this regard. In China, the CCTV channel broadcasts programs for other countries.
