24 patients, including Covid positive, died at Chamarajanagar (Karnataka) hospital due to a delay in oxygen supply
If human error is the cause for these deaths, stringent action should be taken against those responsible for it !
Mysore (Karnataka) – Twenty four patients, including Covid positive have died at a hospital in Chamarajanagar due to the shortage of oxygen. After this incident, 250 oxygen cylinders were sent from Mysore to Chamarajanagar. Oxygen was to be delivered from Bellary to Chamarajanagar. However, due to a delay in the supply, such unfortunate incident has occurred. Majority of the patients who died were on ventilators. After the oxygen stock was exhausted, they were gasping for oxygen and later passed away. In a similar incident earlier, 4 patients had died due to oxygen shortage in Kalaburgi’s K.B.N. Hospital. In another instance, a person placed on a ventilator had died after the power went off in Yadgir Government Hospital.

Karnataka Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar said, “What happened in Chamarajanagar is an unfortunate incident. I have discussed this matter with the CM. I am heading to Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar. I will find out how the deaths took place”.
