Haryana Police allegedly held vehicle with oxygen cylinders overnight, causing death of a Covid patient

Jind (Haryana) – A Covid patient lost his life allegedly due to Haryana Police holding a vehicle carrying oxygen cylinders meant for his treatment. The vehicle driver has accused the Police of causing the patient’s death. However, the Police has refuted all the allegations. ‘Two oxygen cylinders were found in the vehicle. The driver could not show the required papers on the spot. He was later released at night upon showing the necessary papers’, the Police said. Jind SP has ordered probe into the matter. “Further investigations are in progress and further action will be taken as per the facts which emerge,” she said.
The driver, was carrying oxygen cylinders in Innova car from Dhuri, Punjab. He had to reach Ghaziabad till 3 AM in the morning before the patient would have run out of oxygen; however, his vehicle was stopped by Jind Police at 11 PM earlier night. After checking the vehicle, he was released in the morning; by then the concerned patient had passed away.
