Rename roads named after Mughals and British – Akhara Parishad President Mahant Narendra Giri
Why do such demands have to be made? Why haven’t any of the political parties which formed the Government over the last 74 years taken any steps? In Hindu Rashtra, these names will be changed on priority! |
Lucknow (U.P.) – Mahant Narendra Giri, President of Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad, demanded that the roads named after the Mughals and British be renamed. He said that the streets should be renamed after great people of India who sacrificed their lives for the country. He added, “Looking at the streets named after the invaders and those who harmed the country is painful not only to the Saints, but also the youth of today. The names of traitors should be removed and instead the streets should be renamed after patriots like Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and others”.
Religious leaders should avoid such statements ! : Congress
Congress Spokesperson Ashok Singh said, “The country will run according to the Constitution and not at the behest of religious leaders, whether you are a Hindu Guru or a Muslim or any religious head for that matter. No religious leader or Sadhu should make such a statement or demand”. (The Constitution provides the freedom of thought to everyone. Therefore, any individual can make a demand with regards to national matters. The Congress leaders should first study the Constitution and only then open their mouths ! – Editor)
