Shiv Pooja at Taj Mahal by Hindu Mahasabha on Mahashivaratri

There is ample evidence that the Taj Mahal is a Hindu religious site with a Shivalay in it. It is with this deep religious sentiments that Hindus go there to perform Pooja. Despite repeated requests for the monument to be returned to the Hindus, administrative apathy has hurt the Hindu sentiments.

The religious sentiments of Hindus cannot be ignored. With a BJP Government at the center and the state it is not expected that Hindus be harassed in this manner.

Agra – The Hindus believe that the Taj Mahal is an ancient Shiv temple. Renowned historical revisionist P.N. Oak has also written a book with ample evidence that the monument is a Shiva temple called ‘Tejo Mahalaya’.

1. State President of the Hindu Mahasabha, Meena Diwakar and 2 activists started performing pooja aarti on the famed Diana bench near Taj Mahal, on Mahashivaratri. They were apprehended by the Central Industrial Security Force and handed over to the Delhi Police. Delhi Police is investigating the matter. Sanjay Jat, the National Spokesperson of the Hindu Mahasabha, and District President Raunak Thakur along with some activists rushed to the Tajganj police station in Delhi as soon as they learned about the arrest.

 2.  A 3-day Urs (An Islamic celebration of the dead) of Shah Jahan is going on at the Taj Mahal and as per tradition namaz was being offered there. Any religious rituals at the Taj Mahal other than the Urs are prohibited. (If Hindus are not allowed to worship Shiva, then why are Muslims allowed to perform this Urs? Hindus feel such discrimination is not acceptable with a BJP Government at the Center. – Editor)
