Iran conducts surgical strike in Pakistan, rescues border guards held captive
Many Indian soldiers, from the Indo-Pak war and ex-Navy Commander Kulbhushan Jadhav, are captive in Pakistani prisons. India should carry out such surgical strikes instead of wasting time in discussions to free its soldiers !
Tehran (Iran) – Iran, like India, has reportedly conducted a surgical strike in Pakistan. Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) raided the hideouts of the terrorist organisation Jaish ul-Adl and rescued two Iranian border guards. These guards had been held captive for two and a half years by this terrorist group. No Iranian soldiers were injured in this operation.
Jaish ul-Adl is a south-western Pakistan group along Iran border that actively carries out armed attacks in Iran. It has claimed responsibility for the February 2019 attack in Iran, which killed and wounded many Iranian soldiers.
Jaish ul-Adl had, on 16th October 2018, kidnapped 12 IRGC guards and held them captive in the Pakistani city of Merkava in Balochistan Province, bordering the two countries. A joint committee was formed between Iran and Pakistan to free the soldiers. The committee secured the release of five soldiers on 15th November 2018, while four more Iranian soldiers were rescued by the Pakistani army on 21st March 2019.
