Instructions for seekers regarding the Haridwar Kumbh Parva taking place in Mar-Apr 2021

The Mahakumbha Parva will take place in Haridwar (Uttarakhand) from 11.03.2021 to 27.04.2021. This is a golden opportunity to propagate Dharma and create awareness in people about Hindu Rashtra. Instructions for the seekers who wish to  participate in the Kumbha Parva seva, follow:

1. Important instructions

  1. The seekers willing to perform seva in Kumbha Parva should be physically fit. In general seekers in the age group 16 years to 65 years may contribute physically. Seekers who are suffering from chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases and asthma are requested not to volunteer for this seva.
  2.  Seekers should inform to the respective district-level responsible seekers about their physical and spiritual distress in detail.
  3. All personal belongings e.g. mobile, charger, pen, notebook, blanket, pillow, air-pillow, sweater should be  labeled legibly with your name.
  4. Seekers should submit detailed diet requirements in the registration form.

2. Travel instructions

  1. Major railway stations near Haridwar city are Haridwar (HW), Motichur (MOTC), Jwalapur (JWP) and Rishikesh (RKSH). Each train has exclusive extra seat reservation for different stations. Seekers should consider this as well as seat availability and reserve their seats in advance.
  2. There are no direct trains travelling from some states to Haridwar but there are trains to Delhi. Seekers travelling from these states may travel till Old Delhi (DLI), New Delhi (NDLS) or Hazrat Nizamuddin (NZM) and then board connecting trains to Haridwar. Seekers will have to reserve their seats accordingly.
  3. Getting tickets on short notice is difficult. Hence it is advisable to confirm their to-and-fro tickets in advance.
  4. Every seeker should be alert and take care of their belongings in the railway station to avoid being robbed.
  5.  The seekers should not take any food or beverages from any co-passengers.
  6. The mobile battery may get discharged during the journey if the phone is used in excess. This may cause inconvenience to establish contact with others. To avoid this, use the mobile sparingly.
  7. Wallets or mobiles may get stolen through the train windows when trains are in stations. Hence use mobile cautiously while traveling on the window seat. Also make sure that all valuables are stored securely.
  8. The Amrut Snan (holy bath) is scheduled for the March 11th, April 12th, 14th and 27th. Travelling to the Kumbh area is prohibited a day prior to these dates, on these days and a day after these dates. Seekers are therefore requested not to travel on these days.

3. Things to carry

  1.  Government issued identity cards e.g. driving license and Aadhaar Card. Keep a photocopy of these cards at home and bring a copy along while travelling.
  2. The first 20 days of March are generally cold. Carry adequate winter-wear like sweater, jacket, sweatshirt, inners, gloves, winter socks, winter cap etc.
  3.  Seekers should carry their own medicines.RMake allowances for extra 4-5 days in addition to the actual arrival-departure schedule.
  4. Seekers are advised not to carry valuables like gold ornaments, excess cash etc.

4. Accommodation

  1. During Kumbha Parva, seekers will be living in fabric tents on the bank of river Ganga.
  2. Seekers will be given air bag or blankets to sleep on.
  3. Western toilets will not be available.

Instructions to district-level responsible seekers

1. The Kumbh are is very dusty. Please do not choose seekers who are suffering from chronic diseases like cold, asthma etc.

2. Please do not choose seekers who are suffering from spiritual distress and those whose spiritual distress may get manifested. Similarly please do not choose seekers who are suffering from immense physical distress.

Donating as per the principle ‘Satpatre Danam’ (donating to the Absolute Truth) during Kumbh Parva reaps spiritual benefits a 1000 times. More than 100 seekers across India will be participating in this drive to propagate Dharma. Their lodging, food etc. has to be managed which will require funds as well as materials.
