Ban on cow-slaughter Bill passed in Karnataka
Congress walk-out to oppose the Bill
Realise that the Congress party has not passed any Bill banning cow-slaughter in the last 74 years in the State or at the Center since it aims at appeasing religious fanatics.
Bengaluru (Karnataka) – A Bill banning cow-slaughter was passed in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. When it becomes a law, killing of cows and calves will be illegal. The Bill allows the killing of buffaloes that are over 13 years of age.
Sale and transportation of beef will also be a punishable offense. The only exception to this is when the cow is sick and will infect other cows – then slaughter of such cows would be allowed.
The cases of people accused of cow-slaughter will be decided by the Court expeditiously. A provision has been made in the Bill to open cowsheds for the safety of cows all over the country.
