Decision to name Kerala’s biotechnology campus after Pujya Golwalkar Guruji
Severe opposition from Kerala Government and Congress
Thiruvanantapuram (Kerala) – The Central Government’s decision to name Kerala’s Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology after Golwalkar Guruji, the second sanchalak of RSS, has sparked protests from the State Communist Government as well as its opposition party, the Congress. While accusing the BJP of trying to give a religious tinge to everything, they questioned Pujya Golwalkar Guruji’s contributions to the field of science.
The ruling LDF and opposition Congress in Kerala flayed the Centre's decision to name the second campus of Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology after late RSS ideologue M S Golwalkar, alleging that the BJP was communalising everything.https://t.co/W3r3hGR2EL

Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Science and Technology, had announced that the new campus would be named ‘Shri Guruji Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar National Centre for Complex Disease in Cancer and Viral Infection’. In response, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has urged the Central government to reconsider this decision and requested that the institution be named after an Indian scientist of international repute.
