New Delhi – Since weeks, denigration of Hindu Dharma, Deities, Hindu culture through various advertisements, Web-series, films etc. is going on constantly. Now the Hindu hatred of the newspaper ‘Economic Times’ has come forth. An article in this newspaper stated that, ‘Diwali is a festival of fats’ and it sends a message that people celebrating Diwali are prone to obesity. On the contrary the same newspaper stated last year during Christmas that, ‘the sweets prepared during Christmas are really yummy and Indians like them’.
1. ‘Economic Times’ has made an effort to pass a negative message through a headline, ‘Festival of fats: from diyas to deep-fried delicacies, Diwali is a celebration of oil.
2. On the contrary the same newspaper had published an article with the heading ‘A sugary, sweet X’mas: Kerala Rum cake, Goa’s Bebnica and other delicacies India loves during Christmas’ last year. This clearly sends the message that Indians favour Christmas.
3. This is being protested through social media on large scale. It is being criticised and questioned that, ‘is this the secularism of ‘Economic Times’ ?
