Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj insulted by calling him ‘beloved symbol of extreme Hindutva’
Police complaint lodged at 4 places against the editor and owner of ‘The Wire’
Mumbai – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was strongly insulted in an article published on ‘The Wire’, an online news portal on 8th October under the headline ‘By Attacking the Mughals, Adityanath is erasing the history of his own Nath sampradāy’ and written by journalist Christine Marrewa Karwoski.
History employs evidence, facts, and reasoning, while propaganda aims to distort basic truths.
To what extent will Yogi Adityanath go in order to reconstruct history to advance a Hindutva agenda for denigrating the country’s Muslim citizens? | @CMarrewahttps://t.co/UnvqL0T6Qp

Criticising Chief Minister Yogi Adityanathji’s announcement to rename the Mughal Museum as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum, she said, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is the most beloved symbol of Hindu nationalism”. This writing is highly reprehensible and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti strongly condemns it.
Mr. Ramesh Shinde, the National Spokesperson of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) demanded immediate action against the editors, owners and journalists of the news portal ‘The Wire’ for insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Mr. Shinde said that against this writing, Mr. Prabhakar Bhosale has lodged a Police complaint at Vikhroli, Mumbai, Roshan Mulay at Amraoti, and devout Hindus at Pune and Jalgaon Police stations. In this complaint, it is demanded that an offence should be registered against Siddharth Varadarajan, editor of ‘The Wire’, Siddharth Bhatia, M.K. Venu and writer Christine Marrewa Karwoski under sections 153A, 295A and 34 of the Indian Penal Code and the accused should be arrested immediately.
Hindu society will never tolerate any insult to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The editor of ‘The Wire’ Siddharth Varadarajan should immediately tender a public apology in this case and withdraw this news, as well as tender a public apology to the entire Hindu community; otherwise, we will bring him before the Court, in this case, he warned.
