Varanasi (U.P.) – The famous ‘Assi Ghats’ here witnessed the terrible dance of women wearing skimpy clothes during the shooting of a movie, ‘Love You, Shankar’. These women dressed in short and provoking costumes danced to the tune of the remix of a devotional song, ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare. The ‘Jagruti Foundation’ raised objections against it. Subsequently, the District Administration stopped the shooting.
Protesters stopped the shooting of the @shreyastalpade1 and @TanishaaMukerji-starrer #LoveYouShankar at #Varanasi's Assi Ghat on Thursday, alleging that it hurts their religious sentiments. Filmmakers have agreed to make changes as per protesters' demandshttps://t.co/hR7N88SQNH

Actor Shreyas Talpade and actress Tanisha Mukharjee are in the lead roles. Tejas Desai is the producer and Rajiv Ruia is the director. A set was erected on the ‘Assi Ghats’ after the district administration granted permission for the shooting. The backdrop consisted of diverse pictures of Deities. In front, the semi-clad women were dancing to the tune of the remix of the devotional song, ‘Om Jai Jagdish Hare’. The ‘Jagruti Foundation’ objected and demanded the immediate suspension of the shooting by the District Collector, Kaushal Raj Sharma. The Secretary-General of the ‘Jagruti Foundation’, ‘Ram Yash Mishra’ informed that the foundation will register a Police complaint. (Congratulations to the Secretary-General of the ‘Jagruti Foundation’, Ram Yash Mishra for promptly acting to put a stop to the affront of the Hindu religion. Hindus all over should learn from it. – Editor.)

The standard bureaucratic response by the ADM Gulab Chandra – ‘We will conduct an inquiry into the incident, and take action.’
While speaking about the incident, ADM Gulab Chandra said, ‘The producers of the movie took proper permission for the shooting, however, if the shooting has hurt religious sentiments then an inquiry will be done and action will be taken accordingly.’ (Is the administration not aware what they are permitting? Is it not the duty of the administration to keep a watch on what is actually happening after the permission was given ? The district administration is likewise responsible for hurting the sentiments of the Hindus. The Yogi Adityanath Government must initiate action against the responsible officers and suspend them. – Editor.)
‘This is a mockery of our religious sentiments.’ – Ram Yash Mishra, ‘Jagruti Foundation’.
The Secretary-General of the ‘Jagruti Foundation’, Ram Yash Mishra stated, ‘Many visitors from various places all over the world visit ‘Kashi’ to learn our culture. Thousands of tourists come here and adopt our culture. The ‘Assi Ghats’ witnessed discourses by the saint Tulasidas. He taught the principles of life here. How can we allow nudity and obscenity at this sacred spot? ‘Kashi’ is the learning centre of Vedas and Upanishads. Spreading obscenity through the parody of devotional songs is playing with fire and our sentiments. The district administration must take action immediately and put stop to this nonsense and file a criminal complaint against the producers. |
