Pangong (Ladakh)– Chinese Army is creating furore that the Indian armed forces in North Ladakh have crossed the Line of Actual Control and opened fire. China has stated that India resorted to indiscriminate firing on a hill. This news was published in the official newspaper of China, ‘Global Times’.
A spokesperson of ‘Western Theatre Command’ Jong Shui has said that Indian Army has crossed the Line of Actual Control near Shenpao situated in Pangong Tso and opened fire on the Chinese Army who were on a patrol duty. (Warning shots were fired). In order to bring the situation under control, Chinese Army had to open retaliatory firing. India has violated the mutual agreement, which will become a reason for the tense situation in this area. India should stop such mischievous acts, and strict action should be taken against the soldiers involved in this act. India should take precautionary measures that such acts do not repeat in future. Our soldiers will perform their duty, and they are bound for the security of the nation.

False statement by China – The Chinese Army opened indiscriminate firing and attempted to come near the Indian posts
Indian Army has struck down the allegation of China that the Indian Army tried to infiltrate into the Chinese territory near North Ladakh. Indian Army has given the information that the Chinese Army had opened fire and tried to come near the Indian post. Indian Army has alleged that, it has become a regular phenomena by the Chinese ‘People’s Liberation Army’ of violating the mutual agreement.
Armed forces deployed near LAC from China An estimated 50 armed troops have been deployed by China near the Line of Control (LoC). The Chinese army has a Chinese weapon called ‘Stick Machets’. This was reported by ANI. |
Indian Army had given a detailed report of the incidents which had taken place on 07th September :
- The information given by the Chinese Army is an attempt to mislead the international community. India had not indulged in firing or crossing the Line of Actual Control as alleged by China. Contrary to this, India strongly stands for peace near the Line of Actual Control, but the Chinese Army is indulging in such acts, which are instigating the Indian Army.
- Talks between the two countries at the Army and Political levels are becoming fruitless because of the attacking attitude of China. Talks are being held on the Brigade Commander level. Even then on the evening of 7th September between 3 PM and 7 PM, Chinese Army has attempted to come near the Forward Post of India. Even in this situation, Indian Army maintained patience and tried to restore normalcy in the region.
- Indian Army is bound to maintain peace. Hence, under any situation, we do not indulge in such acts which cause damage to the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
In the past forty years, this is the first time China has alleged of firing by Indian forces. (This shows the attitude of China ‘not to maintain peace in the region’. This should be highlighted by India on the international front! – Editor).
