Possibility of cow slaughter in the place of first Hindu temple on Eid
- Religious fanatics to make place impure by slaughtering a cow
- This incident shows the plight of the minority Hindus in Pakistan ! It is ripe time that the Indian Government raises its voice!
Islamabad (Pakistan) – The likelihood of the first Hindu temple in Pakistan being materialised has minimised because of the agitations of some hardcore Muslim organisations. Before this, the Pakistan Government had announced a financial help of Rs. 10 crore for the construction of the temple. A social worker from Pakistan presently staying in South Korea, Rahat Austin expressed that there is a possibility of a cow being slaughtered by some religious fanatics, on the occasion of Eid in the place where the temple is proposed to be constructed. This act would hurt the religious sentiments of minority Hindus.
Presently the Hindu population in Islamabad is 3,000. There are only two temples, which are controlled by Muslims. Hindus cannot worship there. That is why the Hindus want to construct the temple in Islamabad. Along with this, the Hindus want to cremate the dead in the surroundings. In the present circumstances, any person who wants to cremate the dead has to go to Sindh covering a lot of distance.
The then Pakistan Government led by Nawaz Sharief had donated land to construct a Hindu temple in Islamabad. During his tenure as Prime Minister, the construction of the temple could not be completed. Imran Khan has succeeded Nawaz Sharief. Imran’s Government sanctioned Rs. 10 crore for the construction of the temple. But because of the delay in receiving money, the Hindus in the area had collected Rs. 13 lakh and started the construction of the temple. Some hardcore Muslim organisations had opposed the construction of the temple, which resulted in the stoppage of construction works.
