Infamous criminal Vikas Dubey killed in a Police encounter
Tried to escape when police car overturned near Kanpur : 6 Policemen injured
Kanpur (UP) – Infamous criminal Vikas Dubey, arrested in the case of killing 8 Policemen in Chaubeypur, was killed in a Police encounter near Kanpur. On 9th July, Vikas Dubey was arrested by Madhya Pradesh Police in the premises of Shri Mahakaal Temple in Ujjain, in the morning. He was taken under control by a Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police and was being brought back to Kanpur by a convoy of four-wheelers. This convoy reached near Kanpur at 6:30 a.m., when the vehicle Dubey was sitting in, overturned due to rain. Taking advantage of this, Dubey snatched a pistol from a Policeman and tried to run away. The Police then asked him to surrender, but he refused and started firing at the Police. Hence, the Policemen responded by firing bullets, first on the feet and then on the waist injuring Dubey. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced brought dead. Two Policemen were injured in the encounter and 4 were injured in the accident. They are undergoing treatment in a hospital.
