The lockdown witnessed a rise in violence on the women in Andhra
This is the result of not teaching the spiritual practice to the community. If society performed the spiritual practice, such incidents could have been prevented.
Vishakhapatnam (A.P) – Because of lockdown due to coronavirus, there is an increase in domestic violence, extortion, and other atrocities on the women, in the hilly region of Andhra Pradesh. These incidents doubled during the lockdown period. Previously, an average of ten cases were registered in a week. Now, due to the enforcement of lockdown, 20 cases of domestic violence per week are coming forward.
The Women Commission receives 300 complaints every month
The Chairperson of the Andhra Pradesh Women Commission said, “Nearly 300 cases were received. The actual figure may be much more, because the women are reluctant to approach the Police or Commission. Maximum cases involve violence after consuming alcohol.
