Acquisition of Char Dham and 51 temples appropriate ! – Justifies BJP Govt of Uttarakhand
The Uttarakhand Government criticises the petition filed by Dr. Subramanian Swamy is to achieve private and political interests
Till now, Hindus have bitter experiences that ‘once the temples are acquired by the Government, the complete arbitrariness follows in the temples’ systems, including puja rituals, accommodation for devotees, management of temples’ wealth, administration of the temples and in appointing dissatisfied people from political parties in temple management.’ Who is going to think about it ?
Dehradun (Uttarakhand) – BJP Government from Uttarakhand presented an affidavit to Uttarakhand High Court claiming that acquisition of Char Dham and 51 temples by the Government is appropriate. The court had asked for the State Government’s response to the petition filed by Dr. Subramanian Swamy (Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader) against the State Government’s takeover of temples. The State Government presented the above as a reply to his petition. The Government also criticised that the petition is private and political.
It stated further in the petition that it was essential to manage the temples by the Government for the better management of Char Dham Yatra in future and during natural calamities. The examples of Shri Vaishno Devi Temple, Shri Jagannath Temple, Shri Somnath Temple etc. are cited in the affidavit.
The affidavit states and claims that the petition filed by Dr. Subramanian Swamy is not a public interest petition. Dr. Swami is a political leader. He has filed the petition for his own private and political interests.
Uttarakhand Government silent over Supreme Court’s ruling !
Dr. Swamy in his petition had provided the reference of the Supreme Court’s ruling on Government acquired Shri Nataraj temple in the year 2014. It stated that ‘the temples should be managed by the devotees and not by the Government’. The affidavit of Uttarakhand Government omitted responding to this point.
