Twitter locks OpIndia-Hindi for reporting stories of Hindu victims of Delhi riots
Social media owned by foreign companies such as Google, Facebook, Twitter hate Hindus and Hindutva; they always back religious fanatics. Despite their overt actions they have never been banned.
New Delhi – The curious case of micro-blogging site Twitter arbitrarily suspending nationalistic Twitter accounts continued as this time it locked the account of ‘OpIndia-Hindi’ for reporting facts and exposing ‘liberal-secular’ media’s dubious propaganda on Delhi’s anti-Hindu riots.
On 8th March, OpIndia-Hindi posted an investigative report on how Muslim mobs had carried out a meticulous plan a few days prior to the communal riots and had exposed the claim of the ‘liberal-secular’ media who propagated the false narrative of Muslims being the ‘victims’ despite being perpetrators.
As per Twitter, writing about the fate of 10 Hindus who had to face the brunt in the Delhi anti-Hindu riots is ‘hateful conduct’. Following the suspension of the account for 12 hours, Twitter gave a clarification that the account had promoted violence or threatened other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, etc. However, it did not provide any specific reason before arbitrarily suspending the account.
Not only this, the personal account of OpIndia-Hindi Editor, Ajeet Bharti, was also locked for 12 hours because of his tweet to ‘journalist’ Saba Naqvi. This is not the first time Twitter has tried to suppress voices of a different ideology. Social media users have been questioning the mysterious behaviour of Twitter which is often found censoring social media users for expressing their opinion. Last year, it had also banned Kashmiri activist Rohit Kachroo after he exposed NDTV for showing that Kashmiri Hindus are unhappy with the abrogation of Article 370.
