TTD’s contribution to AP Government raised from Rs. 2.5 crore to Rs. 50 crore
So the loot of Hindu temples by the Government not only continues, but increases year after year while doling freebies to Muslims and Christians increases to appease the minorities for votes !
To change this situation, Hindus must unite and lawfully compel Governments and Judiciary to give Hindu temples back to the devotees !
Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) – The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ contribution to the Andhra Pradesh Government has been raised from Rs. 2.5 crore to Rs. 50 crore, following the decision of the AP Government to bring in amendments to the AP Endowments Act.
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams – the richest temple administration in the country will now have to cough up Rs. 50 crore annually in the form of contributions to the State Government towards the Common Good Fund (CGF), Endowments Administrative Fund (EAF) and Archaka Welfare Fund (AWF).
The State Government sought the TTD to enhance its contributions in a lump-sum form under the three different heads through a memo, following which the TTD Trust Board under the chairmanship of YV Subba Reddy accorded approvals for the State Government’s proposal during the revision of the TTD’s budget estimates held on the sidelines of the TTD trust board meeting on 28th December 2019.
The State Government has also proposed to further hike the contributions by 10% once every 5 years. It is learnt that during the TTD Trust Board meeting which approved the Government’s proposal to hike TTD contributions, several Trust Board members voiced concerns and opined that the temple body should now turn down undue requests for financial assistance to renovate/uplift other temples across the State, especially with the TTD’s contributions to the Government now hiked.
Tirupati jewellery reported missing
Deity Venkateswara’s jewellery was reported to be missing from the well-guarded treasury at the administrative building of the TTD in 2017 which came to light two years later in August 2019. It was confirmed that the jewellery was ‘lost’ even after the temple administration completed the process of re-verification of the full inventory stock at its treasury now. Before this also, reports of jewels missing in Tirupati Temple had come out. CIC had pulled up TTD and Andhra Government over RTI query at that time.
It may be recalled that after the sensational expose in August 2019, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal confirmed to the media that 2 gold rings, 2 necklaces worth Rs. 4.18 lakh, 1 gold coin worth Rs. 71,259, 1 silver crown weighing 5.4 kg. worth approximately Rs. 2.32 lakh, silver-coated copper coins and aluminium coins worth approximately Rs. 14,448 were reported short during stock verification at TTD treasury in administrative building.
