Swechha, parechha and Ishwarechha
Invaluable guidance of Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Athavale for seekers
A. Encourage those involved in social service to perform spiritual practice, as only this can change destiny : Some people like to help lepers as social service, However, such social service is at the psychological level. We say ‘Swechha (One’s own wish)’ is undesirable’, but by doing social service we get stuck in parechha (Other’s wish). We do whatever we feel like doing. Can God not see the pain being experienced by a leper ? God never intervenes in anyone’s destiny. Spiritual practice alone can change destiny. It is just that people are unaware that only Spirituality has true answers.
B. Description in a proverb of an individual who behaves with swechha : Human being is basically an animal with a human body. The only difference between the two is that humans do not have horns and tails like the animals do.
C. Dissolution of the mind gradually begins as one behaves with parechha : There are three steps in behaviour – swechha, parechha and Ishwarechha (God’s wish). When we behave with parechha, dissolution of the mind begins. In spiritual practice, we have to destroy the mind. In the Ashram, there are various satsevas. Seekers perform these as the responsible seeker instructs them to, that is, they behave with parechha. Thus, their spiritual progress takes place rapidly.
