Keshav Maurya, Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh Our Government will ban PFI :
Banning of PFI should not be left to just the States, the Union Government should also ban it all over the country !
Lucknow (UP) – The UP Police claimed it has enough evidence to prove that the Popular Front of India (PFI) members were behind the violence during the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests. UP Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh also mentioned that the PFI members instigated violence in several parts of the State and recommended a ban on the organisation. So far 20 active workers of PFI have been arrested. The arrests included some key members of the organisation.
“Some former members of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) have joined the PFI and they have fanned protests in different parts of the State. If SIMI is trying to work on behalf of this organisation, then we will crush it. Such anti-social elements will not be spared and our Government will ban the PFI”, said the Deputy CM of UP Keshav Prasad Maurya. This organisation is already banned in Jharkhand.
According to Union Home Ministry sources, in 2017, the Ministry had said that there was evidence against the PFI. This organisation is also alleged to have been involved in 6 terrorist attacks. Additionally, they are also involved in religious fanaticism, forceful religious conversion, etc.
