32 districts in Maharashtra failed to prevent crime

Reality revealed in government report

Mumbai – The state government recently announced the District Good Governance Index (District Good Governance Index) report. In it, the performance of the respective district administrations in 10 different sectors was evaluated. The performance index of 36 districts has been determined based on how many points the districta has scored out of 1,000, with 100 points for each sector. In this index, Nagpur district has secured the first rank in Maharashtra with 537 points, while Amravati has secured the fourth rank with 509 points; however, out of the 10 sectors whose performance was reviewed in the report, all the districts are lagging behind in two sectors – justice and public security (crime) and social development. According to this report, as many as 32 out of 36 districts in the state have failed to prevent crime.

Editorial Perspective

This is a pathetic situation. The police administration is expected to make strong efforts to prevent crime in all districts.
