6 people died in a stampede outside the Tirupati temple

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) – Six people, including a woman, died and 40 others were injured in a stampede near the Vaikuntha Dwar Darshan ticket counter at the Sri Tirupati Temple here at 9:30 p.m. on 8thJanuary. Tickets were being distributed for the special Vaikuntha Dwar Darshan, which will start from 10th January for 10 days. The temple committee had opened 91 ticket counters for this. At the time of the incident, there was a crowd of more than 4,000 devotees. A stampede-like situation had arisen at that time. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has assured all possible assistance to the injured in this incident. According to the information given by the temple committee officials, a crowd had gathered at Vaikunth Dara for tickets. The Police asked the devotees to form a queue at Bairagipatteda Park. The crowd ran towards the park from outside Vaikunth Dara. This led to a stampede. People fell on each other. This caused many to suffocate. A woman named Mallika died on the spot.
