Maha Kumbha Mela’s revenue potential worth Rs 2 lakh crore : Yogi Adityanath, UP CM
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) – More than 40 crore devotees are expected to visit Maha Kumbha which is likely to generate a revenue of Rs 2 lakh crore, informed Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister Uttar Pradesh (UP) while addressing a function.
CM added that ‘Ardha Kumbha’ held at Prayagraj in 2019 contributed Rs 1, 20,000 crore to the economy of the State. The upcoming Maha Kumbha Mela is likely to generate a revenue of Rs 2 lakh crore for the economic development of the State. More than 16 crore devotees visited Varanasi for darshan of Kashi Vishwanath from January 2024 till September 2024 whereas Ayodhya received more than 13.55 crore devotees.

He added that Maha Kumbha Mela would spread India’s ancient cultural and religious traditions at the global level. The organisation of the Mela is not only a religious event but a symbol of social and spiritual unity.
