3 Muslims arrested for throwing dead cows in Hindu-majority areas to incite riots in Jammu
Jammu (Jammu & Kashmir) – The Police have arrested 3 cow smugglers who tried to incite riots by killing cows and throwing them in Hindu-majority areas. These accused had made a similar attempt at Nagrota in Jammu. The smugglers arrested by the Police have been identified as Mukhtiar Ahmed, Tariq Hussain and Arif. These three were involved in cattle smuggling since many days. They used to brutally load cows into trucks and throw the dead cows in Hindu-majority areas. On December 24th, they threw dead cows on the Jagti-Rajpur road in Nagrota.
Mukhtiyar is a resident of Anantnag in Kashmir, while Arif and Tariq’s home is in Reasi area of Jammu. All three confessed the crime during Police interrogation. Their truck has been seized. In Police interrogation, they admitted to have thrown a dead cow in Jagti area 2 months ago. After that the angry Hindus condemned the incident. They also admitted that they wanted to incite a Hindu-Muslim riot by doing this.
