Gulf countries reject visa to Pakistani citizens
Ban due to their involvement in drug trafficking, begging and human trafficking
Islamabad (Pakistan) – The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia and many other gulf countries have imposed an indefinite ban on granting visas to Pakistanis. Gulf countries and major cities are the favourite places of Pakistanis for touring and seeking jobs. Pakistan’s image has been maligned due to increasing incidents of ban on entry and issuing visas. In addition, the UAE has made it mandatory for Pakistani visa applicants to submit a Police character certificate.
Reasons for imposing ban on Pakistani citizens
- Many suspicious travellers from Pakistan have visited other countries on a large scale in the last few years who are involved in drug and human trafficking. Some are illegally staying in those countries.
- The number of beggars is quite high in gulf countries. Saudi Arabia has now warned Pakistan after the increasing incidents of arrests of Pakistani beggars.
- Many companies in gulf countries have complained to their recruiters in Pakistan that the people sent by them lack the necessary skill to work in their companies and don’t fulfil their eligibility criteria.
- Mudassar Mir, Managing Director of ‘Vinci Tours & Travels’, Islamabad said that companies from gulf countries don’t want Pakistani labourers or technicians since they know that the workforce being transported fails to meet even the basic requirements of the specified job descriptions.
Editorial PerspectiveThe whole world needs to boycott Pakistan considering the mentality of Pakistanis. Even India should follow suit and do what Islamic countries in gulf are doing. |
