‘Israel’s continuous bombing on Gaza is cruelty’ : Pope Francis

Israel responds saying ‘Pope is silent on Hamas atrocities’

Pope Francis

Vatican City – Israel has responded after Pope Francis, the highest religious leader of Christians, criticized Israel’s continued bombing on Gaza as ‘cruelty’. Israel has accused Pope Francis of hypocrisy. “The Catholic Bishop of Jerusalem tried to enter the Gaza Strip on December 20th to meet the Catholics there; but he was denied entry,” Pope Francis said in a speech.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said that the Pope’s criticism is disappointing, because this war has been imposed on Israel. When terrorists hide behind children and kill Israeli children, it is cruelty. Holding 100 people, including an infant and a boy, hostage for 442 days, abusing them, is cruelty. The Pope has ignored all this. Israel’s policy is that people should not be killed unnecessarily; but Hamas is attacking us using the people of Gaza as a shield. Therefore, Israel has to constantly respond.

Editorial Perspective

Please note that the Pope, who preaches a message of love and peace, never talks about the Islamic terrorism that is spreading around the world.
