Hindus free a temple from Muslim control at Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh)

Police clean up the temple and initiate puja ritual

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) – On 18th December 2024, a Shiva Temple was found in Sarai Rehman, a Muslim-majority area. The temple is more than 50 years old and has been closed for a long time. The activists of ‘Akhil Bharatiya Karani Sena’ and Bajrang Dal reached the site as soon as they came to know about it and tried to open the temple. Police also reached there as they got the information. There was tension in the area for some time. Police Officer Pankaj Mishra of Bannadevi Police station informed that the temple was opened and cleaned. He also promised to provide security to the temple and continue puja in the temple. Aligarh Police Superintendent Mrugank Pathak said that a complaint was received about getting illegal control over the temple and the matter would be investigated. He promised due action against the guilty.

Shivalinga vandalised – VHP

Pratik Raghuvanshi, District Prachar Chief of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Aligarh stated that the idols in the temple were already vandalised earlier and Shivalinga was buried. As the pro-Hindu organisations received the information, they removed the debris from the temple and found the Shivalinga. After cleaning the temple, puja was performed. The locals stated that Hindu families used to stay in the area earlier; but later they sold their houses and left the place. Since then, Muslims have taken over the temple.

Muslims have taken over 15 temples in Bareilly : Karani Sena  

Gyanendra Singh Chauhan, Karani Sena’s regional president stated that the temple was taken over by other people for many years and puja was not being performed. The idols have also been vandalised. Karani Sena has identified about 15 temples which are under the control of Muslims. These temples will also be freed soon.
