Why do riots happen only in Muslim-majority areas ? : CM Yogi Adityanath, UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath questions the opposition in the Assembly

Lucknow (UP) – ‘Festivals of Muslims are celebrated peacefully across the country. Why can a Muslim procession pass in front of a temple, but a Hindu procession cannot pass in front of a mosque ? Why do riots happen only in areas with a high Muslim population ? In Muslim-majority areas, a Hindu youth is killed for hoisting a saffron flag. Why can’t anyone hoist their flag in their own country ? Why can’t the saffron flag be hoisted ?’, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked opposition in Assembly while speaking about the violence in Sambhal that took place on 5th December. He also said, ‘It is mentioned in Puranas (ancient texts) that Lord Vishnu’s tenth incarnation (Kalki Avatar) will occur only in Sambhal’.

Key points raised by Yogi Adityanath –

1. If you go to western Uttar Pradesh, common people greet each other with ‘Ram Ram’ first, then how can ‘Jai Shri Ram’ be considered fanaticism ? We greet each other with ‘Ram Ram’. If someone says ‘Jai Shri Ram’, the intent behind it should be understood.

2. The conflict between Shia and Sunni Muslims in Sambhal and Lucknow has been long-standing. Before the BJP Government, there used to be internal violence among Muslims. Previous governments operated on the ‘divide and rule’ mentality. Currently, the conflict between local and foreign Muslims is being covered up by the opposition. Isn’t that true ? No one can hide the sun, the moon, or the truth for long.

3. Opposition leaders ask, ‘If a temple is found in Sambhal, will a temple be built there ? Baburnama states that every mosque was built by demolishing a temple. What do you have to say about this ?

4. A survey was conducted here on 19th November, which continued on 24th November. The situation in the area worsened due to the speeches given before and after the Friday prayers on 23rd November. Our Government had already announced that we would set up a judicial commission. The truth will come out.

5. Today, a Hanuman temple has been found in Sambhal. Idols are being found in wells. 22 wells have been sealed. Former MP Shafiqur Rahman Barq never considered himself an Indian. He used to say that he was the son of Babur. We want to say that the culture of Lord Ram will prevail in India, not the culture of Babur.

6. There were continuous riots in Sambhal in the years 1976, 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1992, and 1996. In these riots, 209 Hindus were killed, but no one spoke a word for those innocent Hindus. According to the National Crime Records Bureau, religious riots in the State have dropped by 97%. During the Samajwadi Party’s tenure between 2012 and 2017, 815 religious riots took place, which claimed 192 lives. In the previous tenure, there were 616 riots, with 121 deaths.

7. Many videos have surfaced showing people involved in the Sambhal riots carrying guns and pelting stones. No criminal will be able to escape punishment. The Government has no sympathy for riots and rioters. Anyone who creates chaos will not be spared.

8. India is a country where the majority community is demanding a Uniform Civil Code. This demand is not inappropriate. The opposition is trying to block the Supreme Court’s order. When the Allahabad High Court judge spoke about the Uniform Civil Code, the opposition issued an impeachment notice against him.

9. In Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, there is not a single word about ‘secularism’ or ‘socialism’. The opposition is trying to create confusion among the people to seize power.
