Washington (USA) – Hindu temples were vandalized by mobs in Bangladesh. Now it is time for the US Congress and the US Government to take action in Bangladesh. Every possible means must be used to stop the atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, demanded Indian- origin US Representative Shri Thanedar.
I spoke today with a sense of urgency to bring awareness to the escalating crisis of human rights violations in Bangladesh.

1. Since the ouster of Sheikh Hasina Government from power, Thanedar has been continuously speaking about the issue of the attack on Hindus. He said that violence against Hindus has been going on in Bangladesh since its independence from Pakistan in the year 1971. We have recently seen an attempt to kill a Hindu priest after his lawyers were arrested.
2. Indian-American Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi has urged Congressman Rubio to address the root cause of violence against minorities, mainly Hindus, in Bangladesh. Recently, a large number of Indian-Americans have conducted rallies in against the attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh.

Editorial PerspectiveA Hindu Congressman in the US makes such a demand to his Government; but not a single Hindu member of Parliament in India makes a similar demand to the Union Government. What a shame ! |
