Indian Coast Guard capture 78 Bangladeshi fishermen
Paradip (Odisha) – The Indian Coast Guard have arrested 78 Bangladeshi fishermen for entering Indian waters and seizing two fishing boats during the operation. These boats have been named ‘FV Laila-2’ and ‘FV Meghna-5’. They have been taken to Paradip port for questioning. A case has been registered against Bangladeshi fishermen who infiltrated into Indian waters under the Maritime Areas Act, 1981. While the Indian Coast Guard were patrolling, two Bangladeshi fishing boats were spotted entering Indian waters. They were caught by the Indian Coast Guard. A total of 78 people have been arrested from the boats. Both boats are registered in Bangladesh. Investigations are underway in this case.
