Bangladesh Court refuses to expedite the hearing of bail application of ISKCON’s Chinmoy Prabhu

Advocate Pujya Rabindra Ghosh, who fights for the rights of Hindus in Bangladesh, will defend Chinmoy Prabhu in the Court

Chittagong (Bangladesh) – The Court has refused to expedite the hearing on the bail application of ISKCON’s Chinmoy Prabhu, who was arrested on charges of sedition. The Metropolitan Sessions Court said that Prabhu’s petition will be heard on the earlier scheduled date of January 2nd, 2025.

1. Supreme Court Advocate Pujya Rabindra Ghosh had requested the Court to hear the petition early. However, when another advocate told the Court that Advocate Pujya Ghosh did not have a letter of authorization to represent Chinmoy Prabhu, the judge rejected his plea seeking an early hearing.

2. Advocate Pujya Ghosh said that even though Chinmoy Prabhu has been suffering from diabetes, asthma and other ailments, he was implicated in a false and fabricated case. Now I will visit Chinmoy Prabhu in the jail and seek the right to fight his case.

3. The Court had earlier postponed the hearing scheduled for December 3rd, 2024 to January 2nd, 2025; because on that day, no advocate appeared in the Court on behalf of Chinmoy Prabhu due to fear. One of his advocates had been fatally attacked a day earlier.

4. Chinmoy Prabhu’s fellow independent Gaurang Das and member of his organization ‘Sanatani Jagran Jot’ had earlier said that no advocate represented Prabhu due to pressure and threats from a group of politically motivated advocates.

Attempt to shove Advocate Pujya Ghosh

Advocate Pujya Ghosh

Due to the fear of fanatics, no lawyer was ready to fight the case of Chinmoy Prabhu. Advocate Pujya Rabindra Ghosh, who fights for Hindus in Bangladesh, has accepted to fight this case. When he went to the Court to plead his case, crowd tried to shove him. (From this, we can see the difficulties faced by those fighting on the side of Hindus in Bangladesh. Will the Indian Government try to protect the Hindus there now ? – Editor). Advocate Pujya Ghosh survived because of Police protection.

Editorial Perspective

It would not be wrong to say that the Courts in the Islamic countries oppress Hindus while staying within the judicial framework.
