Devout Hindus in Jat again displayed the ‘Afzalkhanvadh’ (Afzalkhan’s killing) board
Permission from the Police administration to put up the board
Jat (District: Sangli, Maharashtra), 10th December – On 9th December in the city, Hindu organisations including Shri Shiv Pratishthan Hindustan established a grand ‘Afzalkhanvadh’ board at the city’s main Maharana Pratap Chowk. It is also said that ‘Afzalkhanvadh’ boards were put up in the city with the permission of the administration at three places namely Maruti Mandir in Mangwar Peth, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk.
On 8th December, a digital billboard of ‘Afzalkhanvadh’ was put up in the city on behalf of Shri Shiv Pratishthan Hindustan on the occasion of Shiv Pratapadin; however, the Police officers of Jat Police Station came with a Police team and seized the billboard. While seizing the billboard, it was torn, which desecrated the billboard. Due to this, there were angry reactions among the devout Hindus against the Police in Sangli district and after the devout Hindus informed BJP MLA Gopichand Padalkar about this, he also expressed his displeasure by condemning this action of the Police. Finally, the Police had to take note of all these things.
