‘If India demands Chittagong, we will reclaim Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha’ : BNP

Anti-India protest outside the Indian High Commission in Dhaka (Bangladesh)

Dhaka (Bangladesh) – Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), threatened that “If India demands Chittagong, we will reclaim Bengal, Bihar, and Odisha.” Rizvi made this statement during a protest organised by the BNP outside the Indian High Commission on 8th December to condemn India. During the protest, the BNP handed over a memorandum to the Indian High Commissioner.

Amid the rally, heavy security was deployed around the Indian High Commission. After the protest, three army contingents and Police forces continued to be stationed there.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi further said, ” India can harm Bangladesh at every step. India dislikes the people of Bangladesh and only shelters Sheikh Hasina. She ruled Bangladesh for 16 years due to blessings of India. India cannot maintain friendships with anyone. If India stops issuing visas to Bangladeshis, it will be beneficial for Bangladesh. It will lead to prosperity, increased production, and growth for Bangladesh. India has done a good job by closing the borders. Earlier, drugs used to come from India, but now they won’t.”
