Sehore (Madhya Pradesh) – Hindu organisations have raised objections to a Mazar located on the premises of a Government school. They allege that the Mazar attracts people seeking to rid themselves of supposed ghostly afflictions. Additionally, incidents of harassment of schoolgirls by visitors to the Mazar have also been reported. Hindu organisations and the ABVP have demanded the removal of the Mazar from the school premises. (To safeguard the sanctity of educational institutions and prevent misconduct, it is imperative that the BJP-led Government in Madhya Pradesh takes timely and appropriate action in this matter! – Editor)

Katha Vachak Mohit Pathak remarked, “A school is a place for imparting education, but here, superstitions are being propagated. This is an instance of ‘land jihad.’ While students are studying, people visit to perform rituals for ghostly exorcism and offer chadars at the Mazar. A demand has been made to the administration to remove the Mazar from the school premises.”

School Principal Sunita Jain stated that she had submitted a request to the administration to remove the Mazar one and a half years ago, but no action has been taken yet.

Editorial Perspective

How does a Mazar get built in a school premises ? The so-called secularists, who oppose teaching the Gita in schools, seem to have no issue with a Mazar in the same space.
