Bundle of cash found under Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s seat in Rajya Sabha

Uproar in the House as Opposition creates a ruckus

New Delhi – On 5th December, during the Winter Session of Parliament, a bundle of cash was discovered under the seat of Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi in the Rajya Sabha. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar revealed this information on 6 December, stating that security personnel had reported the incident to him. He added, “The matter is being investigated as per the rules.”

The revelation led to an uproar in the House. Responding to the allegations, Singhvi said, “Whenever I come to the Rajya Sabha, I only carry a Rs 500 note with me.”

Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge commented on the matter, saying, “Until the investigation is complete and the truth is established, I request that no member’s name be mentioned. Such baseless accusations tarnish the country’s reputation.”

Lok Sabha adjourned till 12 noon amid chaos

As soon as proceedings began in the Lok Sabha, Opposition MPs started shouting slogans. Speaker Om Birla responded, saying, “Don’t you want the House to function? Don’t you want the Question Hour to continue?” Despite his appeal, the uproar persisted, forcing Birla to adjourn the session until 12 noon.

Editorial Perspective

When will the expenses incurred due to such disruptions be recovered ? Or will such incidents continue unchecked year after year ? Those who claim to be saviours of democracy are, in reality, mocking it daily. The public does not expect these individuals to escape accountability for their actions.
