British Royal Family revokes honours of two individuals, Including an Indian-origin MP
Reports suggest the revocation is due to their opposition to Khalistanis and the BBC
London (UK) – The British Royal Family has revoked the ‘Commander of the British Empire’ (CBE) honour awarded to Raminder Singh Ranger, an Indian-origin member of the ‘House of Lords,’ the upper house of the British Parliament. Similarly, the honour awarded to Anil Bhanot has also been rescinded. The revocation is attributed to allegations of misconduct that brought the system into disrepute. Raminder Singh Ranger has been outspoken against Khalistan supporters and has criticised the anti-India stance of the BBC. Complaints against him were reportedly filed with institutions associated with the British Royal Family by his opponents in these matters. Following these complaints, it is believed that the decision was made to revoke his honour. Raminder SinghRanger has stated that he will pursue legal action regarding this matter. He has also been accused of breaching parliamentary codes of conduct.

Opposition to BBC documentary defaming Prime Minister Modi
In a statement following this incident, Raminder SinghRanger said, “The British Royal Family has revoked the honour awarded to me because I opposed Khalistan supporters and the BBC, which aims to destabilise India. The BBC had produced a two-part documentary accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being complicit in the Gujarat riots two decades ago. Despite the Supreme Court of India exonerating him, the BBC continued to malign him.”
A spokesperson for Ranger asserted that he had committed no crime or legal violation. The revocation of this honour is a serious matter, and citizens are urged to raise their voices against it.
Revocation of Anil Bhanot’s honour
Alongside Raminder SinghRanger, Anil Kumar Bhanot’s designation as a member of the ‘Most Excellent Order of the Civil Division of the British Empire’ has also been rescinded. Bhanot was awarded the honour in June 2010 on the occasion of the late Queen Elizabeth’s birthday for his contributions to the Hindu community and interfaith relations.
Editorial PerspectiveThis incident reveals the true nature of the British Royal Family. Under the guise of freedom of expression, entities like the BBC and Khalistanis in Britain spew venom against India. Actions like these by the British Royal Family may embolden them further. It would not be surprising if Britain becomes a hub for anti-India sentiments in the future. |
